About Rebecca
I was called to become a doula after beginning my own journey as a mother. The experiences I had during my pregnancies, births, and postpartum periods were transformative and empowering, and led to a passion for supporting other families on their paths into parenthood. Whether they are welcoming a first child or expanding their families, I believe parents benefit greatly from professional guidance as they navigate this exhilarating yet challenging time.
Every birthing individual deserves non-judgmental support during pregnancy and birth. I respect each family’s birth preferences, whether they hope to have an unmedicated birth or plan on an epidural, birth at home or in a hospital, or anything in addition or in between. My goal is to provide evidence-based information to my clients and help them understand what options may be available. I value every phase of working with my clients, from building a relationship prenatally, to being present with them both emotionally and physically during labor, and then following up after the birth. Parenthood is a long journey, and I believe that, particularly in the early stages, no one should feel like they have to go it alone.
I am professionally trained and certified as a birth and postpartum doula with Doula Trainings International (DTI). I have specialized training from Spinning Babies in how to encourage babies to get into optimal positions for birth, as well as training to support clients who may be survivors of trauma. In 2016 I founded a local parenting group that meets weekly to help new parents connect and share their experiences.
Parents and babies can experience long-lasting benefits from surrounding themselves with positive support. I feel honored to serve families as they welcome their babies into this world.
