About Liz

My calling to become a doula materialized when I was pregnant with my third. I found help navigating the world of hospital birth with the aid of a birth doula through all three of my pregnancies and found that I couldn’t imagine giving birth without one. I had three very different birthing experiences, but all were empowered and profound. While pregnant with my third child, I trained to become a birth doula with DONA International so that I too could assist families along their journeys, just as I was guided in my births. I feel like I have truly found a home in birthwork and I am honored to walk this path with my clients.

I received my certification as a Spinning Babies® Parent Educator and I am passionate about teaching parents techniques to ease discomforts in pregnancy and in labor to create space for babies to promote smoother, more comfortable labors. I am also a certified childbirth educator with Lamaze International.  I have specialized training with The VBAC Link, which helps in support for clients who wish to have a vaginal birth after a previous cesarean section. I lovingly welcome all pregnant people and their families with open arms.

I was raised in Albany and am now growing my family here. I feel that when we support birth, we support the health and future of our communities. Continuous and compassionate labor support, tailored to your unique situation, is so significant for birthing people. Families should also be provided evidence-based informational support during the pregnancy and labor process so that they can truly know all their options prior to going into labor. As your doula, I will use my knowledge of the birth process to provide physical, emotional, and environmental comfort measures during your birth and I with advocate for your birth intentions. You can have peace of mind knowing that you will be supported in your decisions with the aim of a positive and joyful birthing experience.
